Stories from the Field

An "Unforgettable Time"

A note of thanks to READ and our supporters from Grace Church, Zvyagel, Zhytomyr, Pastor Oleksandr Shchavlynskyi

Dear READ MINISTRY,

Greetings in Jesus’ Name.

This spring, you donated $4,000 to hold The Children’s Camp for children emotionally wounded by war and a women's spiritual recovery seminar, "Side by Side," for the mothers of these children.

I want to express my sincere gratitude for your financial assistance and many sincere prayers.

From March 29 to April 4, 2026, Grace Church, where I am the pastor, organized a trip to Transcarpathia, to the village of Polyana in Mukachevo district, more than 500km from our town, to hold a camp for children and a women's seminar for widows. A total of 61 people went, including 30 teenage children, children of soldiers, heroes, refugees, and even children of a soldier who disappeared on the battlefield. Their mothers also went with the children and attended a wonderful spiritual and recovery seminar. We also presented wonderful women's Bibles to mothers. We rested at the base of the hotel "Continent" in the village of Polyana in Transcarpathia. During our stay on this trip, there was very wonderful, delicious food, many delicious snacks, and a variety of gifts. And together with the children and mothers, we climbed the mountain, where we prayed, ate fried fish, rejoiced, and took photos.

Thank you - it was an unforgettable time of restoration, spiritual healing, and strengthening.

May Almighty God abundantly bless your ministry for Ukraine in times of disaster and war.

We pray for you and for your ministry in Ukraine.

Sincerely, with prayers for you, pastor of the Grace Church, Oleksandr
