Kim was first introduced to Ukraine through Calvary Community Church in St. Cloud and the MBC program Love Lift, Ukraine. Along with her husband, Tom, and their two daughters, they represented Calvary to a sister congregation in 2005.

Kim graduated from Bethel Seminary in 2017 with a master's degree in Ministry Practice. This was a significant opportunity for growth in discipleship as well as furthering her skills and background in ministering to others. In her professional life as a psychologist, she has worked with children and adolescents as well as with adults. Kim returned to Ukraine in 2017 under the auspices of READ to speak at the Beyond Suffering conference in Lutsk with READ board member Oksana Elsinger, and participated in READ's distribution of literature related to the ministry to persons with disabilities. Along with her husband, they currently attend and serve at Eagle Brook Church in Lino Lakes. Through their on-going involvement with READ, it is clear that God is doing great things in the church in Ukraine and many of the Eurasian countries.

Throughout her adult life, Kim has had the privilege of serving the Lord in a number of ways- through music and worship as a musician a well as a leader of youth music ministries; through leadership of discipleship ministries, including leading small groups, Bible studies and church committees; by serving on leadership boards of several churches; and as a board member and chair of the St. Cloud Christian school board of directors. She also served as a ministry leader at Camp Lebanon in the quilt program there for a number of years.
