Wrap Up In Kyrgyzstan

This update was received from Steve Eckert on 10/16/22 at 1:30 pm (12:30 am 10/17 in Bishkek) at the end of his two-week trip to Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan.

Dear READ Family & Friends,
This will be my wrap-up note as we pack up our bags and head for home. We have been in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, for the past 5 days, and we will fly out Monday morning.
It has been a very fruitful time here as we shared in a two-day theological conference here in Bishkek with 45 Baptist Union pastors from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
Every pastor received a new commentary from READ Ministries as they left the conference on Thursday.
We then spent the weekend with educators from United Theological Seminary, where we supported the translation work of Dr. Charles Ryrie's book Basic Theology. One of the first theological books to be translated into Kyrgyz. We dedicated this book and celebrated together on Friday night at the UTS campus. READ hopes to be a part of supporting the translation work of many more indigenous theological books here in Kyrgyzstan.
We closed the weekend off at Great Grace Church of Bishkek. Our dear friend Pastor Emil Osmon is the pastor at GGC, and he hosted us all day. We preached and shared about READ and then had a wonderful lunch at Emil’s home.
There is much more to share, but it is time to shut the lights out and head to bed. I will be flying for the next two days, with a brief overnight in Warsaw on Monday night.
Thank you for sharing and praying for the work of READ Ministries. I am so blessed and proud to be a part of a ministry that has faithfully sought to work closely with partners throughout Eurasia for the past 20 years. We are making a difference in this part of the world as we extend God’s Kingdom to all nations.
Grateful for your support,
Steve
